Proposal would have led to baseball facility and commercial development in Mesa

From The Arizona Republic: A proposed deal that would have enabled Arizona State University to share a new Chicago Cubs stadium in Mesa has fallen through. University officials say the Cubs, who hold spring training in Mesa, tried to impose too many changes to the original terms of the deal. Cubs representatives say that isn't true. The university's existing baseball venue, Packard Stadium, needs an estimated $20 million to $25 million in renovations, officials say.
