Students at Raleigh, N.C., college protest residence hall conditions

More than 100 students atShaw University in Raleigh, N.C., packed the lobby of the university president's office in a silent protest over poor residence hall conditions, including moldy bathrooms, toilets that don't work and crowded rooms. Several students demanded to see Shaw President Clarence Newsome while others sat quietly with duct tape over their mouths. Newsome asked the students to provide him a list of their demands and says his administration would get to work on it. To read The Raleigh News & Observer article, click here.
