Shelby County, Tenn., schools get security upgrades

The magnetized doors at Riverdale Elementary School in Shelby County, Tenn., are part of a security system that enables office staff to control locks from inside, while viewing visitors from a video intercom system. After surveying the visitor, staff can press a button to release the latch or call police. Shelby County Schools plans to have the same security system in every elementary school by next school year.
