Woodland Joint Unified district is closing Grafton Elementary in Knights Landing

From The Sacramento Bee: Residents of Knights Landing, Calif., say one of the few bright spots in town is Grafton Elementary, the only school. So, it came as a jolt to Knights Landings' 1,100 residents last month when the Woodland Joint Unified School District school board voted to close Grafton at the end of this school year and bus the children 16 miles to Woodland. District officials say a $7 million budget gap led to the decision to close the campus.
