Oxford, Ohio, school will save money by incorporating existing buildings into the project

From The Cincinnati Enquirer: Faced with projected costs for a new student center at least $20 million more than expected, Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, is scaling back plans and will incorporate three existing buildings into the design. The university had planned to tear down Culler, Gaskill and Rowan halls to build an $80 million facility to house student groups, recreational space and dining. But estimated costs of more than $100 million changed the plan. Instead, Miami will renovate the existing buildings and build in between. That will cost $65 million and can be done in two phases.
