Study last week concluded that city students are performing better at smaller high schoo

From The New York Times: After a study was released showing that student achievement in New York City is higher in new, small high schools, some of the principals and staff members of some of the city’s largest high schools express concern that their campuses might not survive.

January 2012....from NY1: Students who get into one of New York City's new small high schools have a significantly better chance of walking out with a diploma, according to a study by the research firm MDRC. The results show that students at the small schools have an 8.6 percent better chance of graduating in four years. Researchers compared students accepted to one of 105 new small high schools by random lottery with students who applied to the same schools but did not get a spot.
