The Delta Zeta sorority has sued DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind. The sorority says the school damaged its reputation and cost it money when it booted the house from campus earlier this month for dismissing 23 members. The sorority is demanding that it be allowed back on campus, get a public apology and be awarded damages. DePauw officials cut ties with Delta Zeta on March 12 because of claims by the ousted sorority sisters that they were let go because of their looks.

Earlier: DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind., has severed ties with a national sorority that evicted two-thirds of the university’s chapter members last year. Delta Zeta had characterized last year's removal of members as an effort to improve its image for recruitment, but the evicted women described it as a purge of the unattractive or the uncool. Now, College President Robert Bottoms says that beginning this fall Delta Zeta will no longer be permitted to house students in its Greek-columned residence on the DePauw campus.
