South Carolina district to install cameras on buses

Oct. 19, 2012
Beaufort County will put 3 cameras on each of the 166 vehicles that transport students

From The Island Packet: The Beaufort County (S.C.) School Board has approved a contract to install three cameras on each of the 166 buses in use in the district. The district will buy the cameras for $256,800. The decision to install cameras was prompted by a petition from a mother who said her three children have been bullied on the bus this year. The cameras will be mounted in the front, back and middle of the buses and will have video and audio recording capabilities.
