Cuts looming in 2 South Carolina districts

Mar 9, 2010 3:14 PM

From The Charlotte Observer: More than 70 teachers and dozens of other employees could lose jobs next school year in two South Carolina districts. The Fort Mill and Rock Hill systems also are considering numerous other budget cuts -- including elimination of middle school sports, unpaid leave and fees for participation in marching band and high school sports. Fort Mill is trying to cut $5.4 million in spending, and Rock Hill is dealing with an expected $10 million shortfall.
