TheSpringfield (Mass.) district is planning to build a new, $125 million Roger L. Putnam Technical-Vocational High School. The building would open in 2012 and replace the existing Putnam School, which opened in 1938. Officials say its ventilation, heating, and electrical systems are outdated. The new Putnam would house 1,400 students and 215 staff. The current Putnam has about 1,500 students and 215 staff. The architect is Drummey Rosane Anderson.
