Georgia education officials agree to put off hearing until November

From The Atlanta Journal-Constitution: The Georgia Board of Education is giving the Atlanta school board until November to regain full accreditation, essentially giving members a reprieve as to whether they would be ousted. The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the primary accrediting agency in Georgia, put the board on probation in January for infighting among members. JANUARY 2011...From The Atlanta Journal-Constitution: The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, one of the nation's top accrediting agencies, has placed the Atlanta Public Schools on probation effective immediately.
