Bond defeated in Oregon district

TheSt. Helens (Ore.) School District has failed to win approval of a $19.1 million bond proposal. The money would have enabled the district to renovate and expand St. Helens Middle School. It was the third school bond in two years that voters have rejected. In November 2007, a $26.6 million bond failed. A similar bond measure failed in May of this year.
