Mississippi district plans new high school

The Jackson County (Miss.) School is moving forward with plans to build a new St. Martin High School. The 158,000-square-foot school would have administrative offices and a media center, cafeteria and gym designed for 1,500 students. Classrooms on four wings would hold 1,000 students, but the design has space for two eight-classroom additions. The existing high school will be used to house students from St. Martin Middle and St. Martin Upper Elementary schools after Hurricane Katrina destroyed those two campuses. The architect is Studio South.
