Principal and aide charged with stealing field trip money

A New Jersey elementary school principal and his aide are charged with scamming parents and students in the nation’s poorest city into paying for outings that already were covered by the school district. They told teachers to collect $5 to $12 for each student per trip, authorities say, accumulating thousands of dollars.
