Two students who are deaf contend that the school is not providing needed services

From The Daytona Beach News-Journal: Two students who are deaf have filed a federal suit against Daytona State College in Daytona Beach, Fla., contending that the college has not provided the required services that would enable them to achieve in classes. The suit says Daytona State denied "effective communication" such as sign language, auxiliary aides and services for Laura Koschuk, 40, and Suzanne Bergman, 47. At times, the college provided some interpreters, note-takers and devices. But other times the students were left without help despite repeated requests, or were offered people who were not trained or qualified and equipment that was not effective.
