New student union rejected at University of Illinois Springfield

From The Springfield State Journal-Register: Students at University of Illinois Springfield have voted against building a new student union. The proposed $17 million facility would have required an increase in student fees to pay for it. The union was to include a “great hall,” recreation and entertainment space, a small convenience store and possibly space for student organizations and a coffee shop.
