Funds sought for University of South Florida expansion

Supporters of a proposed University of South Florida campus in Lakeland have taken their pitch to Gov. Charlie Crist, who last year vetoed state money to kick-start the project. The proponents say if there is no funding this year, the deal will fall through. University USF President Judy Genshaft told Crist that without funding, the landowner offering 530 acres for the campus is ready to bail out on the deal.
