Tacoma middle school will open early

Construction is nine months ahead of schedule
TheTacoma (Wash.) School Board has decided to open a new middle school in the middle of the school year. The $45 million, 750-student Gray Middle School will welcome stduents on Jan. 5, the first day of school following winter break. The construction is nine months ahead of schedule, and district construction chief Pete Wall assured board members that it will be ready come January.
