May 2, 2008 11:59 AM

The St. Tammany Parish (La.) School Board has approved design and construction plans for the Robert C. Brooks Jr. Educational Complex, which will replace the center flooded by Hurricane Katrina. The 37,580-square-foot facility will include impact-resistant windows and doors and a roof that will withstand 130-mph winds. It will stand 11 feet above sea level, 6 feet higher than the previous building. The complex's two buildings will house the Slidell Pathways School, the Talented Arts program and the district's Adult Education Program
