Louisiana parish buys site for elementary school

The St. Tammany Parish (La.) School Board has authorized the purchase of three properties for a total of $1.2 million, including 71 acres for a new elementary school near Slidell. That tract is being purchased from Tulane University for $730,000 and will be the home of Henry Mayfield Elementary School.
