Trace Elementary sustained $10 million in damage from July 5 fire

From The San Jose Mercury News: Teachers at Trace Elementary School in San Jose, Calif., are working to compile an inventory of everything they lost when much of the school burned to the ground last week in a early-morning fire. The fire destroyed a 28,000-square-foot building, including 16 classrooms and the school library. It caused $10 million in damage. The new school year begins Aug. 16, and the district plans to install portable classrooms before opening day.
EARLIER: Investigators have finished their examination of the fire scene at Trace Elementary School but remained tight-lipped about how the suspicious blaze was started.
