Planned elementary school would serve children with autism
From The Houston Chronicle: Televangelist Joel Osteen's Lakewood Church is planning to partner with the Houston school district to open a charter school for autistic children. The school, expected to serve students in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade, is slated to open for the 2011-2012 academic year. Despite the affiliation with a church, the charter campus would not be allowed to teach religion.
