University seeks to open charter school in Nashville

From The Nashville Tennessean: Tennessee State University wants to launch an elementary school on its Nashville campus in order to funnel more minority children into math and science careers with the help of college student mentors. The university was one of 13 groups that filed letters with Metro Nashville Public Schools to indicate their interest in starting new charter schools. She plans to ask the school board to open a K-8 school called University Bound Academy.
