Army land transferred to Texas A&M system

From The Austin American-Statesman: Fort Hood has transferred 672 acres to the Texas A&M University System. The land just south of Killeen will be used for Texas A&M University-Central Texas, essentially adding a 10th independent university to the A&M system. The property is worth about $1.74 million. In exchange for the land, the school will provide classroom space for Fort Hood and the U.S. Army for the next 16 years.
