104 faculty members at Texas A&M take early retirement

From The Houston Chronicle: Texas A&M University officials say the school will save $15 million a year by cutting more than 100 tenured faculty members from its ranks. The move will give academic departments more flexibility in dealing with looming budget cuts. In all, 104 faculty members have accepted the agreement that calls for them to leave by next fall. They will receive between nine and 18 months pay in exchange.
