Texas district asks voters for $13.5 million bond package

District wants to upgrade school facilities and build new stadium.

The Van Alstyne (Texas) school district has placed a $13.5 million bond package on the May 12 ballot. An $8 million request would allocate funds for campus improvements at the middle and intermediate school campuses, including upgrades to ceilings and floors, and new gymnasium roofs. A $5.5 million request would pay for construction of a multi-purpose stadium on the high school campus.
