Texas district wants to build a new middle school

Atlanta ISD puts $26.4 million bond request on the ballot

Voters in the Atlanta (Texas) Independent School District will consider a $26.4 million bond package on Nov. 4. The money would enable the district to build a new middle school and renovate its high school. About $20 million would be earmarked for the middle school. It would be about 98,000 square feet, compared with the existing 67,000-square-foot school. Proposed high school renovations include adding a second practice gym, expanding the band hall, expanding the counseling offices and adding science labs.
