Lab safety chief quits Texas A&M

A Texas A&M University official who oversaw laboratory safety has resigned after a federal report sharply criticized the university for safety lapses, poor record-keeping and other problems involving research on biological-warfare microbes. Brent Mattox, A&M's environmental health and safety manager, stepped down Friday.
