Housing shortage at University of Albany

The University at Albany rooms are known as "VIP Suites." The phrase is a polite way of describing residence hall study lounges converted to temporary bedrooms for up to six students. So many students need campus housing that 75 freshmen and transfers are assigned to VIP suites this semester, university officials say, and 429 more will triple-up in rooms meant for two. At least they were able to get campus housing. Roughly 100 undergrads are on a waiting list less than one week before classes start.
