University of Carolina will form China-themed institute

Confucius Institute will enable students to focus on Chinese language and culture
TheUniversity of South Carolina has announced the formation of a new institute to expand the study of Chinese language and culture. The Confucius Institute is to be a collaboration between South Carolina and the Beijing Language and Culture University. The goal is to increase faculty hiring in the area of Chinese studies, beef up China-related research and bring Chinese scholars to South Carolina. To read The State article, click here.
