Oct 19, 2009 1:51 PM

From The Boston Globe: Less than 12 hours after celebrating his team's homecoming victory, University of Connecticut football coach Randy Edsall was at a hospital identifying the body of one of the game's star players. Jasper Howard, 20, was stabbed to death in a fight following an on-campus, university sanctioned dance. Police are interviewing those who attended the dance in search for possible witnesses. University Police Major Ronald Blicher says this is the first homicide at the university in the more than 30 years he has been associated with the school.
