University of Kansas will renovate women’s residence hall

From The Lawrence Journal-World: The Kansas Board of Regents has authorized the issuance of $13.1 million in revenue bonds to renovate Gertrude Sellards Pearson Hall at the University of Kansas. The renovation is expected to start this summer, and the facility would reopen for the 2012-13 academic year. The four-story hall was built in 1955; it now has 232 rooms and serves as a women’s residence. The renovation will include all student rooms and public spaces, excluding the main lobby, which was recently renovated. After the renovation, the building will be co-ed.
