From The Baton Rouge Advocate: University of Louisiana at Lafayette has opened the Ernest J. Gaines Center, which will serve as a clearinghouse for Gaines’ work and scholarly research focused on his writing. The author’s works include “The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman” and “A Lesson Before Dying.”
