Reynolds Institute design blends old and new

TheUniversity of Missouri in Columbia has opened the Reynolds Journalism Institute. The design of the 47,000-square-foot space is meant to meld the old and new, to incorporate a contemporary program into a traditional campus setting. Both the former Sociology Building and Walter Williams Hall were renovated and then connected by, in essence, a third building. The architect is Shaughnessy Fickel and Scott Architects.
