Dec 9, 2011 2:45 PM

From The Nashville Tennessean: Officials with the University of Tennessee in Knoxville have released design plans for a new $160 million University Center. In phase one, a new facility, which will house a bigger bookstore and more dining facilities will be built on the site of what is now the garage. The second phase will start in January 2014; that will include a larger auditorium and ballroom, a new student recreation area, and more meeting space. The school says this will be the first work to address problems at University Center in more than 40 years.
