Less ambitious proposal would not seek state funding
FromThe Seattle Times: The University of Washington has tried in vain to persuade state lawmakers to allocate $150 million in public money for a $300 million remodeling of Husky Stadium. Now, it plans to ask developers to come up with a new plan that doesn't rely on any tax dollars. The new plan is likely to be significantly cheaper — closer to $200 million. That's because the university may delay constructing a new building for locker rooms and weight-training facilities.
