New and renovated buildings are part of 2009 bond program

From The Detroit News: The Detroit school system is celebrating the opening of the newly built Martin Luther King Jr. High School and eight other new or renovated classroom buildings. The nine schools serve 8,000 students and include upgrades such as remodeled classrooms, dance studios and security systems. The renovations and constructions cost $167 million and are a part of the $500.5 million bond issue approved by voters in 2009.
