University of Utah unveils cogeneration plant

Apr 23, 2008 1:42 PM

Young signed a facsimile of the American College and University Presidents Climate Commitment, joining more than 500 schools in a promise to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide. The $18 million retrofit of the university's heating plant will reduce annual carbon emissions by 63,000 tons by using waste heat from power generation to heat buildings.
