School district employee in Michigan accused of stealing union funds

From The Detroit News: Administrators say Patricia Susan Lowry was regarded as a trusted union officer and employee of the Van Dyke Public School District in Warren, Mich., for nearly two decades. But when the account she managed was overdrawn in May, officials uncovered evidence that the 50-year-old union treasurer had been helping herself to more than $110,000 in union dues and school funds over the past six years. Lowry now faces two counts of felony embezzlement.
