DeWitt district superintendent recommended closing school to ease budget woes

From Fox16.com: Rejecting the recommendation of the DeWitt (Ark.) school superintendent, the Arkansas state board of education has decided to keep Gillett Elementary School open. DeWitt Superintendent Gary Wayman told the state board that in order to balance the budget, Gillett needed to close. But Gillett town leaders and parents oppose the closure, so the state board agreed to keep the school open.
