Vote in Farmers Branch, Texas, will gauge interest in creating new school district

From The Dallas Morning News: The Farmers Branch, Texas, City Council has voted to place a nonbinding referendum on the May ballot on whether the city should form its own independent school district. A move to form an independent school district would still face other hurdles, including a requirement that there be 8,000 school-age children in a district. Most Farmers Branch residents send their children to the Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District or private schools.
