Wake County may forfeit funds because of inflated enrollment forecasts

County commission chairman says he wants $6.4 million returned

Wake County (N.C.) school leaders are paying the consequences for misjudging student enrollment projections this year. Tony Gurley, chairman of the Wake Board of Commissioners, has asked school leaders to consider returning $6.4 million, most of it given to the school district based on the inflated enrollment forecasts.
