Wake County (N.C .) district may need 32 additional schools by 2020

From The Raleigh News & Observer: Even though a sputtering economy has slowed growth, Wake County (N.C.) schools still may have to accommodate an additional 50,000 students by 2020 - a projection that has sparked early talk of the need for nearly $1 billion for school construction. More seats will be needed at the high school level by 2013, at the elementary level by 2015, and in middle schools by 2017, for a total of about 32 new schools, according to projections made by county planners. Total enrollment by 2020 is projected at nearly 195,000.
