Report says Washington, D.C., should improve how its provides charter school space

The Government Accountability Office says Washington, D.C., needs to be more transparent about how it chooses which charter schools are given space in school district facilities. The report concludes that in its requests for offers, Washington, D.C., does not disclose all factors it may consider, such as economic development or other goals of the mayor. In addition, Washington, D.C., officials do not sufficiently document the basis for rejecting offers.
