Waukegan district beefs up security operations

Board hires administrator to oversee security

The Waukegan (Ill.) School District is reforming its crisis response plans, security staff training, and procedures for managing visitors at the high school buildings. The school board has appointed an associate principal, who also is a former police officer, as executive director of campus relations, operations and student and staff safety and security.
