Wayne State curtails spending to offset state funding cuts

Furniture and computer purchases put on hold.

Wayne State University in Detroit is prohibiting the purchase of computers and furniture, limiting its office supplies and requiring prior approval for any new hires as part of a cost-cutting strategy to offset funding cuts from the state.
