Chairman of House education committee outlines changes to No Child Left Behind

Representative George Miller, D-Calif., who is chairman of the House education committee and one of the original authors of the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) law, has proposed changing the law so that annual reading and math test scores would not be the only measure of school performance. Other statistics such as high school graduation rates, participation in Advanced Placement or college-preparatory curricula, and test scores in other subjects also would be taken into account.
