Ivy removed from building at Western Michigan University

From The Kalamazoo Gazette: The ivy crawling over the surface of the East Hall building at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo may add to its mystique, but the vines could also be damaging the bricks and mortar. So the Friends of Historic East Campus, a group that advocates for revitalizing the campus, have begun pulling the ivy down. Preservationists say that although the ivy looks romantic and nice, it could hinder efforts to maintain the building.
