Mahtomedi (Minn.) district breaks ground on elementary school

From The St. Paul Pioneer Press: After a year of delays, the Mahtomedi (Minn.) district has broken ground for a new Wildwood Elementary School in Grant. District officials had hoped to break ground for the school last April, but weren't able to get the proper permits in time. The process was stalled by neighbors' concerns about pollution and traffic at the site, which sits near a former landfill. The $18 million K-2 school will replace the existing Wildwood, which was built in the early 1950s.
