West Bend board removes request from November ballot because of nation's economic woes

TheWest Bend (Wis.) school board has removed the district's $68.85 million building referendum from the Nov. 4 ballot until early next year because of the economic uncertainty created by the nation's ongoing financial crisis. Ballots have been printed with the two-question referendum, but the county clerk will try to reprogram voting machines so that any votes cast on the questions are not counted.
